Hope Carried Forward
Through Lila’s Light
Summer 2025
When devastating floods overwhelmed
Kerr County in 2025, the SPCA of Texas
stepped in to provide immediate relief,
welcoming dozens of large-breed dogs from
flooded shelters to safety. This lifesaving
response was made possible in part through
Lila’s Light, a fund created by Lila Bonner’s
parents in her memory to support animals
impacted by disasters. Their generosity
transformed grief into action. With donor
support, displaced animals received medical
care, stability, and a path forward, while local
shelters regained critical capacity. This
response reflects the power of compassion,
remembrance, and purposeful giving.
